The new hatchery, due to open mid 2013, will be located at Santa Cruz de la Siera, to comprise SmartSetPro™ incubators and SmartHatchPro™ hatchers, with a complete HVAC system to include air handling units, humidity and pressure control and a SmartCenter™ hatchery information system, for detailed analysis and remote diagnostics throughout the new installation.
Sofia’s decision to work with Pas Reform was taken, explains general manager Mr Mario Anglaril, after a rigorous selection process among several of the world’s incubation equipment suppliers. “We elected to work with the Dutch-Brazilian company because of its technologies, and because of the range of services available for the company’s customers in South America”, he said.
“In looking for a state of the art incubation system that would be suited to our conditions, we found Pas Reform do Brasil’s engineers and technicians to be extremely well-informed in their use and understanding of the latest technologies. This combined with the local knowledge that Pas Reform’s team could bring to an incubation project in a country like Bolivia was extremely valuable to us.”
According to Thomas Calil, director of Pas Reform do Brasil, the Sofia project represents an important milestone in Pas Reform’s development on the continent. “[Pas Reform] is now undertaking complete projects in Brazil, from hatchery design, layout and specification, across a full range of systems and turnkey project solutions.
“This was always our intention: to grow in line with the Brasilian market, substantially increasing Pas Reform’s global capacity to deliver poultry sector solutions in every continent of the world. We are very pleased to be working on this new project, and look forward to helping contribute to Avicola Sofia’s growth in the future.”
Pas Reform do Brasil’s experienced project team starts work with project engineering and installation to commission the Sofia Avicola project, after which the company’s incubation specialists will work together with Sofia’s hatchery personnel, to fully optimize performance from the commissioning of the new hatchery.
