Located in Tehuacán, in the state of Puebla in central-eastern Mexico, Santa Rita’s new hatchery will have a production capacity of 5 million day-old pullets per year, to supply its customers and the company’s own commercial egg-laying operations. Santa Rita is part of the Romero Group, one of Mexico’s most important poultry producers.
Santa Rita’s owner and President Mrs Mercedes Romero Bringas explained: “The new hatchery is a logical next step for us in the integration of our company, from breeding stock through to the delivery of Mr. Egg table eggs to our markets in the Puebla region and in Central Mexico.
“Our brand has a good reputation in the commercial market and ensuring that we have full control in the chain – from breeding stock and commercial egg production to supplying end product to the consumer – is pivotal to further building our operation.”
Having seen Pas Reform’s extensive product, scientific and technological expertise in the incubation of layer lines it was, says Mrs Mercedes Romero Bringas, logical for Santa Rita to fit the hatchery with SmartPro™ setters and hatchers.
Of equal importance, says Mrs Mercedes Romero Bringas, in Santa Rita’s decision to work with Pas Reform, was being able to call quickly and easily on access to parts and service 24/7 through Pas Reform’s Cuernavaca- based distributor AgroEquip.
Ranulfo Ortiz from Agroequip, Pas Reform’s regional business development manager, concludes: “This project provides us with an excellent opportunity to build a strong and lasting relationship with Santa Rita. We expect strong growth in the Mexican market for the foreseeable future and companies like Mr. Egg are going to play an important role in the supply of high quality table eggs, both to businesses and to consumers.”
