Chick counting and dosing system
Benefits
Automatically detects day old chicks of different sizes using Vision Camera Technology, to count and place them in chick boxes with a ‘friendly’ handling process that reduces stress and travel time for the chicks.
By integrating the data and statistics generated by SmartCount™ with the SmartCenterPro™ hatchery information system, the hatchery manager can produce detailed data analysis and batch reports based on uniformity scorings, weight indications, number of chicks per batch and other important criteria.
How it works
- Chicks are gently transported toward the camera on an extra wide selection conveyor
- Counting takes place as they pass the camera controlled counting system, at a rate of 75,000 chicks/hour (750 chick boxes/hour)
- Innovative Vision technology checks chick uniformity, to indicate weight and record uniformity score by taking 70 images per second
- Smart pattern recognition registers the number of chicks per box and produces precise dosing per box, also allowing for multiple compartment filling
- When the required number of chicks has been reached in the chick box, chicks slide to the next chick box by means of the automatic extractable guiding pins
- Full chick boxes are then transported to the (optional) spray vaccination system
